How to Arrange Your Implant Crown Appointments?

Dental implants are a sought-after restorative dentistry treatment. Unfortunately, the complexity of the procedure has put a high price tag on it. Not many people consider it an affordable option. However, Longevita’s medical tourism services have ensured access to this dental solution to many patients. If you choose to have dental implants, they have the potential to stay with you for a long time. For those of you who’ve already taken the step in this direction, it’s better if you develop a clearer understanding of the way your implant crown appointments will take place. Of course, they’ll take place after the implants themselves have been fitted.

There are so many things that can make the natural beauty of a smile. A traumatic injury or accident may lead to the permanent loss of a tooth. You could’ve lost your tooth or teeth as a result of some medical illness. Wear and tear, loss of enamel, and tooth decay can all have a similar outcome – tooth loss.

The whole process can be somewhat time taking as the implant will be fitted inside the bone in your first visit to Turkey. Only after their fusion has taken place will the dental crown be fitted on top. This “osseointegration” can take more than just a couple of months. The overall time for this process’ completion is determined by the health of the jawbone and location of implants. If the bone cells haven’t attached themselves to the implant, there’s a risk of its displacement after the fitting of the implant crown. Let’s take a deeper look at the whole process. You’ll also come to know how your implant crown appointment scheduling will take place in accordance with it.

Your First Visit to Turkey for Dental Implants?

So, the dental implant procedure consists of two steps. You’ll have to visit Turkey twice to complete the treatment. Initially, the implants will be fitted inside the bone. However, before that, we’ll take an X-ray. It will help in determining the condition of your jawbone. In some cases, bone grafting is required. The reason why the implant is fitted inside the jawbone is that it offers sturdy support to the dental crown. A dental implant doesn’t necessarily only provide support to a crown, it is also used to secure a denture or bridge in place.

The dental implant itself acts as a replacement for the root of the missing tooth. This screw-shaped post is fitted into the jaw. After its successful fusion with the bone, the implant is ready for the reception of the dental crown on top of it. An abutment acts as a connecting piece between the implant and the crown. It is, however, placed at the final stages of the process.

Dental implants are reliable replacements for missing, broken, or decayed teeth. Not only is it functional and aesthetically-pleasing but also it provides protection to the surrounding tissue and prevents further deterioration of the jawbone. After some time has passed, you’ll barely notice the difference between your artificial and natural teeth.

The placement of the dental implant is all that will happen during your first visit to Turkey. It is a part of the process. You’ll have to patiently wait for the fusion to take place. Our dental surgeons will thoroughly inform you about the recovery steps and the total healing time, depending on your circumstances. Meanwhile, if you have any problem, you can always reach out to us.

Usually, How Long is the Healing Time?

It can take 3-6 months for the bone tissue to heal and cover the implant screw completely. Our medical professionals will be able to accurately determine the time when you’ll be ready for your next visit to Turkey. You will have your implant crowns fitted in then. If you insist on visiting Turkey for the placement of implant crowns before the implant has healed, there’s a risk that the crown will put pressure on the implant screw. This can, in turn, slow down the recovery or even result in losing the implant.

Moreover, we will send you informative documents so that you’ll know what to expect.

So, all in all, you need to decide on a date, preferably according to the recovery timeline given by your dentist and then, buy your flight tickets. We’ll take care of everything else for you.

What Will Happen in Your Second Visit to Turkey for Dental Implants

Your implant crown appointment will take place in the second visit. For the fitting of implant crown, you will have to stay in Turkey for a week. Now, in total, three appointments will take place during this time. On the first appointment, our dentist will take an X-ray of your mouth. Of course, the purpose is to examine your implants. If all looks good, they will then take a mould impression and start preparing your crowns. Here, you’ll have the choice to choose the colour of your crowns. Our dentists can also help you choose the best shade so that they contrast well with your natural teeth.

You might have seen many people with metal dental crowns. They are quite visible as they don’t blend in with the rest of the teeth. Metal is stronger and durable than acrylic resins or porcelain. However, patients don’t usually prefer having metal crowns placed in the front. It is not considered as desirable. Therefore, you’ll commonly find the metal crowns placed at the back of the mouth. If the dental crown is going to be placed in the front, then, for aesthetic purposes, metal is not used. Plus, it’s an outdated material now that zirconium and E-max are in use.

The dental laboratory will start preparing your crowns according to the shape you need. Two days after, your second appointment will take place at the dental clinic. During the appointment, we will find out if the new crowns are a good fit for you. If everything goes well, the laboratory will fabricate the crowns accordingly. This will take another two days. We’ll place implant crown on your implant screw in the last appointment. Then you are good to go.

What If You Encounter a Problem During Your Second Visit?

We will do all we can to ensure that your second journey goes smoothly. However, if you do encounter a problem, our Patients Relations Specialist will be available to assist you, even during the appointments. So, you can rely on them to look after you. You should not hesitate to reach out to us during the recovery period for any questions that you may have. We are always here to help you in every way possible.

Uncertainty can feel quite uncomfortable. Many people plan cosmetic surgeries around their work schedule if not the summer vacation. As the whole dental implant procedure can take quite a few months, you have to make preparations in advance. For that, you need to know exactly all the processes and appointments that you’ll go through. We hope this guide was helpful in that regard.

You’ll have to make two visits to Turkey. In your first one, you’ll get the implants. After the bone and implant have fused, you’ll have to come back again for implant crowns. Your second visit will last for a whole week, during which three appointments will take place. At any point in your journey, if you need our help, you can always reach out to us.

We also provide 12-month free aftercare to our patients so you can peacefully recover with us by your side. However, if you’re someone who’s thinking of getting dental implants, then you can go ahead and make your booking. Once we’ve talked to you, we can start making preparations for your trips to Turkey.
