Tips to Spend Great Time Until Your Last Check-Up

Medical tourists coming for plastic surgery in Turkey usually end up with prolonging their stay. Turkey is one of the top tourist destinations around the globe for a reason. After achieving your desired body shape or appearance, you might feel like exploring the city and having a relaxing vacation. There’s something about travelling that makes people leave their worries behind. Everything seems so tiny when you realize the vast magnitude of the sprawling earth. The experience can be divine, so there’s little you can do to resist being a part of it. However, after the surgery, your body will change so you might not be able to live like before, at least for some time.

Depending upon your procedure, recovery time is going to vary. For instance, those who’ve had a dental treatment will have a much faster recovery period in contrast to those who’ve had plastic surgery. Moreover, the physical health of the patient also determines how long it will take for them to completely heal. Your medical history, age, genetics, any ailments and ongoing prescription medications will all play a vital part in determining your recovery period. So, make sure that the time you spend in Turkey is not exacting on your body. Of course, your surgeon will guide you about the things that you can and cannot do. If you have any specific concerns, you can share them with your doctor.

This guide will only provide you with general information for each surgery. However, you have to consult with your surgeon, as each patients’ needs are unique. Through this, you can also come better prepared for your plastic surgery in Turkey.

What’s to See in Turkey?

The fusion of Eastern and Western influences is what gives Turkey its cultural charm. Cathedrals, mosques, museums, ancient bazaars, emerald water beaches, beautiful sunsets, and rich Turkish cuisines are just a few reasons why one might never want to leave the place.

Longevita offers medical treatments in Istanbul and Izmir. The former attracts the greatest number of foreign tourists than any other city in Turkey. Bosporus Strait, Topkapi Palace, Galata Tower, Taksim Square, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Grand and Spice Bazaar, and Sultanahmet Square are a few tourist hotspots.

As far as Izmir is concerned, it also remains unparalleled in its beauty. Alsancak, Asansor, Clock Tower, Agora, Ephesus, Kemeralti Bazaar, Key Museum, Arkas Art Center and, of course, the cascading water of Pamukkale, the cotton castle, cannot be missed out when you’re in Turkey. You might even get plagued with a sense of regret for not being able to see all these wonders. That is why many people decide before even arriving in Turkey that soon after their surgery, it’ll be vacation time. While it can be the case for you, you might encounter some hindrance in implementing your plans in full force. That’s because soon after your surgery, all that your body will want is rest.

How You Can Enjoy Turkey After the Surgery

That’ll depend on the type of surgery you’ve had. So, let’s take a look at all the possible scenarios.

  • Dental Treatment in Turkey

Most dental procedures don’t take more than a few hours. They are done under local anaesthesia. Once the effects of the anaesthetics have worn off, and the patient doesn’t feel dizzy or sleepy, they can go explore the city. It’s better if all the sites visited are within the city limits because dental treatments require following check-up appointments.

If you’re planning to go somewhere, make sure that you inform your Patients Relations Specialist about your planned activities to get appropriate professional advice.

  • Breast Surgery in Turkey

If you have had breast surgery in Turkey, then we strongly advise against any tourist activity until you’ve had your first check-up with the surgeon. Pain threshold varies from one patient to another. Some may feel just fine after a day or two of the surgery, but for others, it is better if they rest comfortably in their hotel rooms.

Swelling is commonly experienced by those who’ve had breast augmentation, reduction, or uplift. It will persist for three whole months, in most cases. You might also experience sudden pains in the first two weeks. However, you shouldn’t worry about them.

Walking slowly in the fresh air will fasten your recovery process. It’s better if the area you’re walking in has a shade.

You can expect the swelling and bruising to go away two weeks after the surgery. Your surgeon will advise you to very gently massage the surgical site. Check out for any signs of infection in the wound. To reduce its risk, keep the area clean and dry.

  • Eyelid Surgery in Turkey

A day’s rest will be enough for this surgery. You may go outside to visit the city but avoid any dusty areas. Be cautious by wearing sunglasses and a cap. Please do not wear any make-up to cover your surgical areas.
