Your Initial Consultation
When you undergo a hair transplant procedure with us, there are a number of steps that you will be guided through before the surgery.
When you first make your enquiry with us, a member of our team will be in touch to discuss your request with you and will subsequently organise your consultation. They will talk you through your enquiry and request photos of your scalp in order to better compile an accurate quote for your treatment. These images will be sent to the team to study prior to your consultation, which will typically take place at our London office in Mayfair. There are some opportunities to have your initial consultation in other major cities across the UK and if you are unable to travel, we may be able to conduct this consultation by phone.
Once the consultation is complete, we will provide you with a quotation and a full treatment plan will be devised. This will include the entire package, including transfers from the airport, your accommodation, the surgery, a full aftercare plan and a dedicated host who will be on hand throughout your stay and for up to a year after your treatment. They will also act as a translator in most cases, so all you need to do is book the flights!
How Will The Surgery Work?
We believe that in order to provide the best hair transplant procedure to our clients, we need to keep things as simple as possible for every patient. When you arrive at the medical centre we will talk you through the process to ensure you have a full understanding of the upcoming treatment. The techniques that we use here at Longevita can differ depending on your hair type, the severity of hair loss and your scalp quality. There are a number of techniques for you to choose from, including:
Follicular Unit Extraction
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a procedure that involves the removal of each hair follicle one by one. This is done by cutting a 0.6-1mm hole to capture the hair root, to ensure that the follicle is removed whole. Our surgeons are experts in their craft and will use a microneedle that punctures the skin, leaving minimal, if any scarring. The length of this procedure can vary depending on the number of grafts required to achieve the desired results. This will be outlined in your initial consultation.
Follicular Unit Transplantation
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) involves a similar process to FUE, however, it requires removing a strip of skin, usually from the back of the head. The hair follicles present in this strip are then cut into groups of around 1-4 follicles and transplanted into the problem areas. This reduces the damage that can be done to the follicles. This method was once the most popular hair transplant procedure but has since been replaced by the more modern FUE procedure for most patients due to the risk of scarring that FUT presents.
Direct Hair Implantation
Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) involves the use of a more modern tool by the name of the Choi Implanter Pen. This tool allows a single surgeon to work on a patient and reduces the amount of time the follicle is left outside of the scalp, with precise and intricate movements. This, in turn, provides a higher chance of a successful implant. It’s important to note that this can take longer as a result but has seen an impressive level of success in patients. However, due to the length of time required to perform this procedure, it is typically reserved for patients who only require a small number of grafts.
Unshaven Hair Transplant
The unshaven hair transplant is a revolutionary procedure which allows patients who want to keep their hair throughout the duration of the transplantation the opportunity to do so. The unshaven hair transplant is popular with women and also for patients who are typically in the public eye. The unshaven hair transplant offers a patient the opportunity to have a hair transplant without the procedure being noticeable.
Hair Transplant Aftercare With Longevita
Taking care of your scalp post-procedure is an important part of ensuring the transplant is successful. The first few days are crucial to success, which is why we offer an in-depth aftercare service while the patient remains in Turkey. This helps to ensure that we will be there to provide support in the case of any unlikely complications or side effects.
Your host will remain by your side throughout your stay to answer any questions that you may have and will check in with you for up to a year following the transplant. We have local doctors and surgeons in the UK, who will also be on hand should you need them throughout the healing process to aid your recovery.
At Longevita, we are dedicated to providing full support and the best care available in the industry. For this reason, we put together an aftercare plan as part of your package. We work hard to provide each and every one of our patients with a successful transplant long after they leave our clinic.
We offer a unique, fully-tailored experience with some of the best surgeons in the business and at a competitive cost. We also offer finance options making hair transplants accessible to anyone who needs one.
