Jenna Ortega turned heads at the London premiere of Netflix’s Wednesday season two, serving gothic glamour in a snakeskin dress, bleached brows and a dark burgundy lip.
However, it wasn’t just her red carpet look that had people talking. Google Trends revealed a jaw-dropping 1,500% spike in searches for “Jenna Ortega buccal fat,” with many speculating the actress may have gone under the knife.
While the 22-year-old has made no comments about it, according to London-based medical aesthetician, Dr Gizem Seymenoglu, the actress might’ve possibly had some work done. Dr Gizem said:
“To me, it does look like she’s had a buccal fat removal because her mid-cheek area appears unusually hollowed-out. You can’t achieve a similar effect with a non-surgical treatment because the volume loss is quite apparent, and nothing gives as dramatic results as a buccal fat removal surgery.”
The aesthetician noted that though it’s also possible she may have lost some weight, but weight loss alone wouldn’t create such a chiselled look.
Plastic surgeon, Dr Nurettin, also agreed with Dr Gizem, echoing that the volume loss in the cheek area is indicative of buccal fat removal.
In addition to a buccal fat removal surgery, Dr Gizem also noted a change in the appearance of Jenna’s jawline, but attributed it to something other than cosmetic work.
“Jenna has always had a strong jawline, no doubt about it, but currently, it looks even more pronounced, especially around the back corners. This is similar to the kind of bulk you see when the masseter muscle is overactive due to teeth grinding. "
"Teeth grinding or bruxism can be a subconscious habit, which is typically linked to stress and anxiety. In any case, teeth grinding exercises the masseter muscle more, and it grows larger as a result of the side-to-side movement. In my opinion, it’s possible that this is why Jenna’s jawline looks more angular,”
Dr Gizem dismissed the idea that the actress might’ve had any filler injected into her jawline to reshape it.
“Of course, Jenna’s wearing a very different kind of makeup - perfectly on theme for Wednesday. It might’ve amplified some small changes in her look, but I don’t think she’s had any non-surgical alterations.”
However, Dr Nurettin disagreed, suggesting jawline fillers could be responsible for the actress’ square jawline.
