Did Megan Fox’s Plastic Surgery Actually Happen?

Sultry, feline beauty is what comes to mind when you think of Megan Fox’s face. Undeniably, she is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. However, when you look at her before and after photos, you can’t help but see the glaring difference between her looks.

Of course, she grew up, lost her baby fat and matured, but that’s not it. Her face and body changed in ways that could not have been possible without a little “help.” And that’s why many people speculate that the Transformers star had plastic surgery. But are those rumours true? And what does Megan have to say about it? Let’s find out.

Who Is Megan Fox?

Born Megan Denise Fox, the actress’ foray into Hollywood began with her modelling career at the age of 13. However, she was also getting trained in singing and acting before that. And so, just 2 years after she had started walking the runway, Megan made her Hollywood debut with Holiday in the Sun.

She was 15 at that time. And it wasn’t until 2007, at the age of 21, Megan got her big break with Michael Bay’s Transformers, in which she played the lead role of Mikaela Banes. To this day, everyone remembers that scene where she fixed the engine of the car in her orange tank top and jeans.

While the actress had signed for 2 more sequels of the film, her conflict with the director of the film ended up costing her the franchise. The following years saw her star in a number of unsuccessful films. For a while, she also took a break from acting. However, now, she is back and has some films coming back, one of them being The Expendables 4.

Did Megan Fox Have Plastic Surgery?

Megan Fox is widely believed to have had multiple cosmetic treatments over the years. And her face and body have changed quite dramatically. For these reasons, it’s believed that she may have had the following procedures:

Nose Job

Seeing how Megan’s nose has changed, many people suspect that she had a rhinoplasty. Looking at it now, the tip of her nose is far more refined. Look closer, and you’ll notice that her nostrils are more flared and exposed, which is another sign of this surgery.

Overall, the bridge of her nose is also slimmer now. It’s believed that she had this procedure just a year after her breakthrough role in Transformers.

Lip Fillers

Another quite noticeable change in the actress’ appearance has been her lips. They are plumper and more voluminous now. In fact, it’s not even that well-kept a secret, considering last year she was seen stepping out of the clinic of a famous celebrity plastic surgeon with glossy, plumped lips.

Clearly, she had her lips done. Although she tried hiding it with the goodie bag that she was carrying and even with her hands. But while she was getting in her car, the sheen of her lips was quite noticeable in the light of the camera.

Now, the rumours about Megan having lip fillers have been going around for quite some time. So much so that in 2010, in an interview with Allure magazine, she clarified that “you can clearly see that my lips are my lips.” Now it wasn’t exactly a denial, but the implication was that she hadn’t done anything to her lips.

Cheek Implants (or Fillers)

It’s not just the lips that Megan is rumoured to have filled up. The apples of her cheeks also looked plumper in the years following the release of Transformers (2007). However, here, it is important to note that the actress was asked to gain weight for the second instalment of the franchise.

And that could have been the reason why her cheeks looked fuller then. But at the same time, the lower half of her face looked quite contoured, which led many people to believe that she might have had buccal fat removal surgery.

Boob Job

It’s also widely believed that Megan Fox had implants to increase the size of her breasts. And if you do compare her before and after photos, there is quite clearly a significant difference in their overall volume.

Keep in mind that breasts stop growing by the age of 18 (at most), but their volume can change later in life due to pregnancy or weight changes. While in the above photo, there’s a noticeable cleavage, it is not so anymore.

Because of how smooth and wrinkle-free Megan’s skin is, people have long thought that the actress had none other than Botox injected into her face. However, the actress refuted the claims by posting an album of herself on Facebook back in 2011 titled “Things You Can’t Do with Your Face when You Have Botox.’

Still, that hasn’t stopped people from thinking that she actually did have Botox. Because keep in mind that Botox isn’t permanent. It lasts for 6 months at most, after which you can start to make facial expressions like the one above. An alternate explanation for her smooth visage has also been given, which is – a facelift

Brow Lift

Over the years, Megan’s eyebrows have also changed quite a bit. When she was quite young, her eyebrows were quite thin, but that had to do with overplucking and not surgery. However, one thing about them was that their tail or outer corner was downturned. But around the age of 24, that changed.

Her eyebrows started to look more lifted, which could be explained by a brow lift surgery. Now, it’s important to note that a brow lift surgery can also be responsible for smoothing out any wrinkles on the forehead. But it doesn’t last (because you can’t stop ageing!) unless you get Botox.

Has Megan Fox Admitted To Getting Plastic Surgery?

Megan Fox has, in fact, denied getting plastic surgery. However, she has urged those considering plastic surgery to be more conscious of their decision.

In the interview with Allure magazine, she said, “I would encourage anyone to first speak with a therapist, to try and figure out where this want comes from, because a lot of times it’s not related to your teeth or your nose or your chin – the surgery is not going to alleviate that insecurity for you.”

“If, then, you feel, This is something that I want to do, then do it. It’s amazing that we have the technology to do the stuff that we do.” More recently, the actress opened up about her own struggles with body dysmorphia.

Getting plastic surgery is a private and personal decision for everyone. If someone doesn’t feel comfortable talking about it, it should be up to them. However, the problem with denying a cosmetic treatment (when you’ve clearly had it) is that it creates unattainable standards of beauty that the general public is (mis)led to believe are achievable if you hit the genetic lottery. This can, of course, make everyone else feel quite unhappy with their own selves.

How Much Did Megan Fox’s Plastic Surgery Cost?

It depends on all the procedures that she actually had. A rhinoplasty can cost as much as $10,000 in the US. And you can get a boob job for around $10,000 as well. Other than that, the cheek implants can end up costing $5,000, and a brow lift can also cost just about the same. So, for surgical procedures alone, Megan would have paid around $30,000.

And if Megan has been getting maintenance injections once or twice a year, as she has been suspected of doing for over a decade, they would have cost her thousands of dollars.

But just keep in mind that the price of a surgical or non-surgical procedure can widely vary depending on the location of the clinic. So, if you’re getting treated by a celebrity doctor, the prices will, of course, be on the much higher end.

Megan Fox’s plastic surgery is more than just a rumour at this point. While the actress herself has denied getting surgery, a comparison of her before and after photos shows that she most probably (read definitely) had surgeries. It’s not possible to change yourself in such ways “naturally.”

Keep in mind that if you suffer from body dysmorphic disorder, it can affect your judgement, which is why some surgeons consider it a contraindication for plastic surgery. If you have been considering surgery, it’s important to consult a medical professional and understand the reasons behind your decision (as Megan also said). Because otherwise, you won’t be happy with the outcome of the surgery.
