The size of a woman’s breast can be dependent on a number of factors, including genetics, weight and hormones. However, when a woman’s breasts get too big for their frame, or are excessively heavy, they can have a negative impact on women of all ages, including backache, neck pain, rashes and a lack of self-esteem. Breast reduction is generally the most sought after cosmetic procedure to help with large breasts, and the procedure helps to remove any excess fat and skin resulting in smaller breasts after surgery is complete.
Breast reductions, also known as mammoplasty, are the polar opposites of our breast enlargement procedures in Turkey and will help to reshape the breast and the nipples and reduce them to a small size in order to help counteract any of the problems that larger breasts can cause. There are a few surgical designs that can help to reshape the breasts, and during your consultation with one of our expert surgeons, the best technique for you and your needs will be determined, before your breast reduction in Turkey. What is Breast Reduction?
Large and sagging breasts may result in pain on the shoulders and neck, backache, skin irritations and painful pressure due to bra straps. Due to their sexual nature, the excessive largeness of the breasts may take too much attention from the opposite sex, causing annoying comments and sexual innuendoes. Such problems might create psychological distress to women who complain about having large and sagging breasts. The emotional discomfort and self-consciousness usually related with having large sagging breasts are significant to many women. Also known as reduction mammoplasty, breast reduction surgery helps achieve a breast size that is proportionate with patient’s body and minimize the discomfort related with overly large breasts. Breast reduction surgery or reduction mammoplasty improves the size and shape of breasts. One of the most received complaints of women with large breasts is that it is very hard to dress fashionably and be active in sports, especially during the summer.
How Breast Reduction is Performed
Breast reduction in Turkey is often performed through cuts on breasts with the removal of the excess fat, glandular tissue and skin. In some cases, liposuction is also used as an excision technique for removing the fat. If fatty tissue is the main factor for overly large breasts then liposuction technique alone might be used for breast reduction surgery.
Patients are given either intravenous sedation or general anaesthesia before surgery. There are three types of incisions possible in breast reduction surgery. The first one is a circular pattern around the areola. The second one is a keyhole shaped incision with a cut around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease. The third one is an inverted T or anchor-shaped incision. The incision lines are visible and permanent however they are hidden underneath a swimsuit or bra. After the cut is made, the nipple that remains tied to its original blood and nerve supply is repositioned. If necessary, the areola is reduced by excising skin. For extremely large pendulous breasts, the nipple and areola may need to be moved and transplanted to an upper position on the breast (free nipple graft). The incisions are brought together to reform the smaller breast. Stitches are layered deep within the breast tissue to create and support the reshaped breasts. Stitches, skin adhesives and/or surgical tape are used to close the skin. Incision lines are permanent, yet in most cases will disappear and significantly improve over time.
Results of Breast Reduction
One can see the results of the breast reduction surgery immediately. Post-surgical inflammation will gradually subside and incision lines will dissolve. The results of reduction mammoplasty are long-lasting. The new breast size should relieve the patient from the pain and physical limitations experienced prior to boob reduction. The new look will enhance self image and boost self-confidence. Breast reduction surgery will make breasts smaller and firmer. The patients will have greater pleasure in playing sports and engaging in physical activities.
The day after the surgery, the patient will be encouraged to walk for a little bit. Couple of days later the patient will be able to move around in confidence. Activities such as straining, bending and lifting must not be done since these activities may cause more swelling or even bleeding. The patient will be recommended to wear a support bra for a few weeks. Usually, sutures will fade in stages over a period of nearly three weeks, beginning about one week after reduction mammoplasty. The patient may feel less sensitivity on the nipple and areola areas that is usual but temporary. After breast reduction surgery, it is usually possible to return to work in just a couple of weeks.
Limitations of Breast Reduction
If one does not gain or lose a substantial amount of weight or become pregnant, breast size will remain fairly constant. Yet, gravity and the effects of ageing will sooner or later change the size and shape of virtually every woman’s breasts. One may choose to undergo breast lift to reshape breasts into more youthful form.
