Nose Job Turkey

The shape and size of the nose can have a big impact on the way the face looks, and because of this, some patients can be self-conscious about their nose. Whether through genetics, or a childhood accident such as a broken nose, there are many different reasons why a person may not be happy with the way their nose looks which could lead to a dip in self-esteem and drop in self-confidence. In this case, people can turn to a nose job in Turkey to help reduce or enlarge the size of their nose or shape it to look the way that they want in order to better complement their facial structure.

A nose job, medically known as Rhinoplasty, provides a surgical solution to issues with self-confidence due to uneven, damaged or unsatisfactory nasal structure. With rhinoplasty in Turkey, patients are given the opportunity to reshape and realign their nose in a number of ways to help enhance and balance out their facial features. Available as both open rhinoplasty, which involves a small incision between the nostrils, and closed rhinoplasty, which features small incisions inside of the nostrils, your nose can be altered to either fix underlying medical issues or to simply provide a more favourable look.

The nose is a central part of the face and for this reason, people are particularly conscious of how it appears. Therefore, nose jobs have become an increasingly popular and common procedure within medical tourism. A nose job in Turkey can consist of a number of different alterations, including a reduction, reshaping or in some cases, the use of implants to enhance portions of the nose.

The sections of your nose that can be treated as part of a nose job in Turkey include:

  • The Bridge – By removing bone and cartilage, lumps or a hump can be reduced or removed altogether. They may also break the bridge of the nose to bring the remaining pieces together.
  • The Tip – By reshaping or removing the cartilage at the tip of your nose, this can be lifted, lowered or reduced.
  • The Overall Length – By reducing the septum, a surgeon will be able to reduce the overall length of your nose.
  • The Width – By breaking the bridge of the nose, the pieces can be arranged further apart to create a wider nose, or limited to provide a slimmer look.

The ideal treatment for a patient can depend on the reason for their enquiry. While many people opt for rhinoplasty in Turkey to improve the look of their nose, nasal surgery was first introduced as a way to relieve issues with the sinuses or to repair an injury that has left lasting effects. If the nose has previously been broken, a nose job in Turkey could help to realign the cartilage and straighten out its appearance. Those suffering from issues with their breathing due to faults or issues in their airway can benefit from adjustments and reshaping to help them breathe better in the future.

The growth of the cosmetic surgery industry has also made nose jobs available to those who are unhappy with the appearance of their nose overall. It is advised that those seeking adjustments to their nose wait until it is fully grown, though this tends to be between the ages of 15-20 depending on genetics and gender.

What Does Rhinoplasty Surgery In Turkey Involve?

When you opt for a nose job in Turkey at Longevita, you will gain access to an effective solution for both medical and cosmetic issues relating to your nasal area. Whether it’s a misshapen nose, or a blockage of the airways, through reduction and realignment of the cartilage, this can be reduced and repaired.

Upon arrival at our clinics in Istanbul, you will meet with your surgeon and allocated host to discuss the details of your surgery in more depth. This will include the opportunity to express any expectations or desires, ask questions regarding the surgery itself and full access to our detailed nose job simulator which can offer you with a clearer idea as to what you will look like post-procedure. At this point, your surgeon will also provide further details about what he’ll do throughout the procedure.

After signing the forms of consent, you will then go through a number of medical tests to ensure that you are physically fit enough for the procedure. If the results deem you suitable, you will then be put under a general anaesthetic and the procedure will begin. This will last between 1 and 2 hours.

Following the nose job procedure, you are required to stay within Turkey for a minimum of six days. On the first night, you will stay within the hospital so our surgeons can perform an initial checkup, and monitor the results throughout the night. You may need to wear a special face mask after the nose job in Turkey to help reduce the swelling and bruising for the first few hours and upon a second check up the following morning, you may be required to stay another night. This can depend on medication requirements, the healing process and the extent of your surgery.

On the third day, you are recommended to stay in your hospital room, with the opportunity to take small walks to get some fresh air. After this day of rest, you are still required to rest, but you can partake in sightseeing tours and other relaxing activities around and beyond your resort, but you must avoid strenuous activity.

On the sixth day, you will have a final check-up at a private clinic with your surgeon. At this point, your bandages and stitches will likely be removed and the dressing changed. You will be given full aftercare instructions, after which you can choose to return home or stay in Turkey for a further few days to enjoy the charms of Istanbul.

We will remain on hand for up to 12 months/a year after your procedure to offer advice, help and guidance in the case of healing or any unlikely side effects. While the likelihood of these effects minimised by our accredited surgeons, there is still the possibility of ill-effects. However, with clinics in the UK available in emergencies, we will ensure your health remains our priority for the full year.

The risks of rhinoplasty can include:

  • Infections
  • Bleeding
  • Fine red spots due to cracked small capillaries
  • Scarring
  • The need for a second corrective surgery in 1 in 10 cases

If you experience any of these issues after returning to the UK after your procedure, you can contact your host or one of our call centres to be put in touch with a local surgeon or practitioner, who will provide advice or treatment as necessary.

What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty, also referred as nose surgery or nose job, improves the look and proportion of the patient’s nose, enhancing facial harmony and self esteem. Rhinoplasty may also fix breathing problems which may have been caused by various abnormalities regarding the nose. It is recommended to wait until 16 years old before going ahead with rhinoplasty since the nose may not be fully developed at a young age. There is no upper age limit for nose jobs. For patients who have breathing problems due to deviated septum, septoplasty can be suggested by the surgeon in addition to rhinoplasty. When they are performed together, the procedure is called septorhinoplasty and it improves both the appearance of the nose and the nasal airway.

How Rhinoplasty is Performed

Cosmetic nose surgery can be performed under local or general anaesthesia depending on the size of the nose as well as preferences of the patient and the surgeon. Moderate sedation is used during local anaesthesia which numbs the nose and the surrounding area. Patient is awake during the procedure, but will have a comfortable and painless surgery. Patient sleeps when general anaesthesia is applied.

Aesthetic rhinoplasty usually takes an hour or two. Process of reshaping the nose differs depending on the technique applied and the problems about the shape of the nose. The skin will be adapted to the newly created nose roof.

Most of the plastic surgeons perform the aesthetic nose surgery inside the nose (closed technique). Some of them, especially in complicated cases, would prefer an open technique for better results.

Results of Nose Surgery

During the first 24 hours after surgery, the patient feels her face is swollen. It is normal to have pain on the nose and the head area. Painkiller prescribed by the surgeon can ease the patient’s discomfort. The patient should lie down on the bed with her head up. Bruising and swelling around the eyes becomes most prominent after 2 or 3 days. Application of cold compresses reduces swelling and makes patient feel a little better. Most of the swelling and bruising disappears within the first few weeks. Patients generally stand up in two days after cosmetic nose surgery and they can return to school or business life one week after nose reshaping surgery although they are advised not to be too active in this period. In general, physically demanding activities such as running, swimming, gymnastics, movements that raise patient’s blood pressure should be avoided for two to three weeks. Day after day, patient’s nose will begin to look better and patient’s self-esteem will rise gradually. Patient will not look like as if they have just undergone a new surgery. However, rhinoplasty recovery time would still be slow and gradual.

Limitations of Rhinoplasty

There are some limits to the degree of change that can happen with rhinoplasty. These are the length and the width of the nose and techniques that can be performed. It is very important to make sure that the nose balances with itself and rest of the face. It may not be possible to take a very large nose and make it very small and still have it look well shaped, balanced, and matching with the person’s face.

Risks of Rhinoplasty

Complications of aesthetic rhinoplasty are rare and usually minor when performed by an experienced plastic surgeon. Nonetheless, there is always a possibility of complication. These may be infections, bleeding or reaction to anaesthesia. After nose reconstruction surgery, cracked small capillaries on the surface of the skin may occur in the form of very fine red spots. Since rhinoplasty is performed inside the nose, there is usually no visible scar. However, when open technique is used or narrowing of the wide nostrils is necessary, very small and thin scars may appear on the base of the nose. Second surgery may be required in one of each ten cases. It is not possible to predict, and even the most skilled and experienced surgeons may need to perform second surgery. The corrective surgery is a simple one compared to the initial surgery.

Day 1

In the morning, you meet the plastic surgeon who is going to perform your nose surgery. He will explain the details of your nose surgery. At this point, you will have a chance to discuss your nose operation in detail. The plastic surgeon may also use a nose job simulator and show you how your nose will look like after the surgery. You will then sign your consent forms and get your medical tests done. The surgery usually lasts for one to two hours. Within an hour after nose surgery, anaesthesia will ease and you will regain consciousness. Your doctor performs initial check-up and you stay at the hospital on the first night of surgery.

Most of rhinoplasty patients require special face mask after the surgery in order to soften the tissues as well as to prevent bruising and swelling. It will be provided by your doctor.

If you have a breathing problem on your nose, you can also have septoplasty surgery in addition to your nose job. You can discuss this condition and whether you want to go ahead with septorhinoplasty with the plastic surgeon before the nose surgery.

Day 2

Your doctor will perform a second check up in the morning before your discharge from the hospital. You will be advised on your medication and provided instructions on the dressing routine. You will stay in your hotel room and rest (in some occasions, patient may stay for one more night in the hospital on doctor’s decision).

Day 3

You are advised to continue resting in your room on your third day. You should avoid heavy activities but may take a walk or go out for dinner.

Day 4 & 5

You will continue resting on your fourth day. You may choose to go for a sightseeing tour which includes cultural and historical places as well.
