James Arthur Plastic Surgery

James Arthur is known for his deep, resonating voice and pouring raw emotion into his music. While he’s been the centre of many controversies over the years, more recently, it was his facial transformation that ended up making headlines.

With the exception of one, James hasn’t admitted to going under the knife for a dramatic makeover. But many believe that James Arthur had plastic surgery. Let’s find out whether there’s any truth to these speculations.

Who Is James Arthur?

Born on March 2, 1988, James Arthur, who is 35 years old at the time of writing, is a British singer who’s widely as the winner of the X Factor in 2012. Opening up in an interview with the BBC, James mentioned that it was during foster care that he taught himself how to play the guitar, and he saw music as an outlet for the negative experiences of his childhood.

When he started his career, he did solo performances but was also a part of different bands, including Emerald Skye, Save Arcade, Moonlight Drive, and Traceless, among others. But it was the win in the X Factor that eventually catapulted him to fame, and it was further accelerated by his cover version of “Impossible” by Shontelle.

The songs from his second album, Back from the Eagle, including Say You Won’t Let Go and Can I Be Him, also found wide success, while the album itself took the top spot on UK Albums Chart. He has since released more albums, such as You and, more recently, Bitter Sweet Love.

Has James Arthur Had Plastic Surgery?

The only plastic surgery that James Arthur has admitted to undergoing is a nose job. In 2017, The Sun reported James saying, “I do have to get an operation on my nose. It’s bent and it is causing congestion.”

As for why his nose had bent in the first place, captioning an Instagram image of him in the hospital, the singer said: “Stay outta trouble kids… Just had my nose put straight after many years of it being on one side of my face due to one to (sic) many scuffles as a teen lol.”

Physical injuries is one of the reasons why some people seek to have rhinoplasty surgery. It can help repair the damage caused and reshape the nose in a way that’s more aesthetically pleasing to the patient.

However, a nose job can also be functional, as James noted that he was having “congestion” issues. As per Closer Online, the singer also believed the surgery to help him be able to “sing better.”

But after appearing on the This Morning show in August 2023, many were quick to note that there was something that looked different about James’ face. Some said that it looked the same, with the exception of the longer hair (with a few suspecting a wig instead), but others were less convinced.

Which Other Cosmetic Treatments Is James Arthur Believed To Have Had?

In particular, it’s James’ cheeks and jawline that have gotten quite a bit of attention. While his cheeks always had good volume, the upper cheekbones didn’t look so sharply prominent before. Similarly, while he had a more heart-shaped face before, his jawline looks more wide now, which makes it appear more square.

This could be achieved through fillers or implants if we’re talking about cosmetic treatments. Dermal fillers, which are commonly composed of hyaluronic acid, are used to plump up and smooth out different areas of the face. A cheek filler can help improve the definition of the cheekbones, and a jawline filler can also help “build” a stronger-looking jawbone.

But keep in mind that dermal fillers are usually temporary (although there are semi- and permanent varieties) and can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Implants, on the other hand, are more permanent alternatives as you don’t need multiple treatments to maintain your results. These can also help you achieve higher cheekbones and make the jawline more pronounced.

Of course, there are other cosmetic treatments as well that are aimed at achieving a similar effect, such as threads, liposuction/fat dissolving injections for jawline, fat transfer to cheeks, etc. James hasn’t talked about any of it.

Other than fillers/implants, however, some also believe that James had Botox injections, seeing as how smooth and wrinkle-free his face looks. But, in any case, it should be noted that both fillers and Botox are not plastic surgeries, they’re non-invasive cosmetic treatments that are done using injections.

Conclusion

James Arthur’s (alleged) plastic surgery has been the subject of much talk (and trolling). At the end of the day, it’s very important to remember that his being a public figure does not mean that the public decides what he gets to do with his body. Plastic surgery is a very personal decision, and you shouldn’t feel forced to talk about it.
