While anecdotal evidence of this treatment’s effectiveness can be seen through numerous before-and-afters, many practitioners are hesitant to use this product on their patients. And there are quite a few compelling reasons for that.

The marketing of the product has also drawn criticism for its tendency to make exaggerated claims that may not always be factually accurate. However, because of the significant interest in lemon bottle fat dissolvers, it’s a good idea to take a closer look at what it really is and whether or not it works.

What Is Lemon Bottle Fat Dissolving Treatment?

Lemon bottle fat dissolving is a non-surgical cosmetic treatment that claims to break down and remove unwanted fat in the body, promising a slimmer and more sculpted body or facial contour. It’s been marketed to get rid of stubborn fat in different areas of the body, including the:

It’s a product of Sid Medicos, which is a company based in South Korea. While they claim their product to be “safe and effective, with no harmful side effects” the lack of available clinical evidence to back this up leaves much to be desired.

On the multiple websites selling this product (Sid Medicos has warned about counterfeit lemon bottle being on the market) and on the product’s official Instagram page, it’s stated that these injections contain “natural” ingredients and the “main special” ones are:

• Riboflavin (vitamin B2) – To get rid of “dissolved fat” quicker than you normally would
• Bromelain – To “break down fat and remove inflammation”
• Lecithin – To “destroy and transport” fat cells that are unwanted

At a distance, this may sound good enough, but “main” is the operative term here. Dr Gizem Seymenoglu, who is a facial aesthetics doctor at Longevita’s London clinic, cautions that one of the reasons why she’s not sold on the idea of using lemon bottle fat dissolvers is that its ingredient list is unknown.

“I wouldn’t be comfortable using a product when I don’t know what’s in it,” she noted. The manufacturers themselves say that “there are many other ingredients” within the “lemonbottle.”

Some other claims made about this product include “world’s fastest fat dissolving” with “instant results.” However, to our knowledge, there’s no clinical evidence to back these claims either, so they’re just that – claims.

Does Lemon Bottle Fat Dissolver Work? 

The anecdotal reports on the efficacy of lemon bottle fat dissolvers are mixed. Even in some before and after photos, you can hardly, if any, notice a difference in the area which was injected. And because its ingredient list hasn’t been explicitly stated, it’s hard to say if or how lemon bottle fat dissolvers work.

While Sid Medicos’ website references proof of ingredients like bromelain and riboflavin separately, they don’t provide evidence specifically supporting the synergistic effect of these ingredients when combined in the lemon bottle concoction.

The fat-dissolving injections you’d “normally” hear about might contain ingredients like phosphatidylcholine and sodium deoxycholate. For instance, Kybella is a popular fat dissolver that uses synthetic deoxycholic acid.

Kybella is also the only FDA-approved product for reducing excess fat in the area below the chin. There are others like Aqualyx, which is made from the deoxycholate family of acids and works by destroying the fat cells in the target area.

A problem with lemon bottle fat dissolvers is that, according to Dr Gizem, “most trusted fat dissolving injections” have deoxycholic acid in them. And since these injections don’t have them, their efficiency remains a question mark.

What To Do After Lemon Bottle Fat Dissolving Injection?

Only your practitioner can guide you on the aftercare instructions of your lemon bottle fat-dissolving treatment.

You may be advised to stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water and avoiding alcohol for some time. Some also recommend against strenuous physical activity, direct sun exposure, swimming, saunas, spas, etc., for a specific period of time. However, again, this is something you should discuss with your provider.

While some warn of post-op side effects like redness, swelling, bruising and pain after the treatment, curiously enough, on its website, Sid Medicos states that it causes “no pain & swelling” and also, the “target and priority” of the manufacturers was to create an “almost no side effect product.” But we’ll get more into this in just a bit.

Is Lemon Bottle Fat Dissolver Permanent?

It is claimed that lemon bottle fat dissolvers can give permanent results since the broken-down fat cells are eventually urinated out of the body. Therefore, as long as you maintain your weight through diet and exercise, you may sustain the results (if any) of your treatment.

Is Lemon Bottle Fat Dissolving Injection Safe? 

There’s not enough scientific evidence to conclusively state that the lemon bottle fat dissolving injections are safe. Dr Gizem also warns that since it’s classified as a cosmetic product, it doesn’t have any CE mark or FDA approval.

Additionally, The Guardian has also reported that Save Face – “a register for medical aesthetic treatments” – got 90 complaints about lemon bottle in 2023, which included things like:

• Prolonged swelling or bruising
• Infection
• Abscess
• Necrosis (tissue death)
• Uneven results
• No results

It was clarified that the complaints could’ve been the result of the technique used, counterfeit products, or the actual thing itself. But since there’s no clarity on this, it would be better to err on the side of caution.

Another safety concern about lemon bottle injections is regarding who actually administers them. In some places, it is stated that this product is only to be sold to licensed aesthetic professionals.

But others say it can be bought by anyone, so there’s a risk of non-professionals administering it. Alarmingly, some online queries even involve individuals seeking guidance on self-administering it at home.

If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have any other health condition or even are in good health, you must still consult a licensed and (proper) board-certified medical professional about getting these injections.

How Much Is Lemon Bottle Fat Dissolving Treatment?
